What's

BROKEN

Homelessness in New York (and cities everywhere) is not a

single-issue crisis. It’s due to information gaps, systemic

barriers, economic exclusion, and public neglect.

CTDnyc was built to meet this complexity head-on. We’re

building an infrastructure of support, powered by the

people most affected, led by those who care deeply, AND

designed to restore both access and autonomy.

What We’ve Built, Together

The CTDnyc app helps unhoused New Yorkers locate nearby food, shelter, hygiene stations, and health services fast, privately, and for free.

A platform for ambition to become accessible.

Through our web platform, unhoused individuals can build business profiles, share pitches, meet small-scale funders, and access mentorship. Investors can contribute amounts toward real ideas, from real people.

Every pitch, profile, and idea on this platform helps shift who gets heard in conversations about economic mobility.

Entrepreneurship Without An Address

Policy for Access

Policy to remove structural barriers

Our formal policy proposal outlines clear reforms to unlock entrepreneurship for unhoused individuals. Instead of waiting for policy to catch up, we’re trying to start shaping it.

What we’re advocating for

Legal address flexibility for business registration

Tiered fee waivers for startup costs

Alternative ID pathways

Public-private mentorship networks

City-backed microgrant programs

The Impact So Far 15,000+

people have engaged with CTDnyc.

These numbers represent people finding food and shelter when they need it, sharing business ideas they’ve carried for years, and leading change in their own communities.

“This well thought-out app lists resources like shower facilities that I didn’t even know were available.”

Resource App User

“I used to think I couldn’t be part of change. Now I’m designing solutions for my city.”

CTD Ambassador Participant

“Being unhoused doesn’t mean being without ideas.”
